Parota (also called guanacaste) is the lighter-weight cousin of monkey pod, with the same big one-piece widths and bold grain at a fraction of the weight. These slabs come from Costa Rica, where the trees grow big enough for a true one-piece tabletop.
Kiln dried and ready to go. Parota is a softer wood that dents easily, so for a dining or conference table we recommend a thicker epoxy coat to protect the top; it is a great lightweight choice for doors and wall pieces. Flattening can be added when you buy, and we can sand and finish it too. Contact us for pricing. Final sale unless defective.
